Indra strengthens its risk management culture

Indra has been recognized by Aenor as a company whose risk control and management system complies with the principles, processes and best practices established in the international standard ISO 31000 to guarantee optimal governance of any external or internal risk factor, including risk management. financial and non-financial risks or risks related to sustainability.

The recognition of the Spanish listed company has also been extended to its subsidiary specialized in information technology and digitization Minsait and the rest of the companies in which it has a majority stake, according to a statement.

The company has a risk management culture that deals with both the operational aspect and the contribution of value to the client, as well as compliance with values ​​such as integrity, responsibility and transparency.

Aenor, the leading certification entity in Spain, has highlighted "the high degree of involvement evidenced by Indra in the audit process, both by the staff of the Internal Audit and Risks Department, especially the Global Risks Unit, and by the rest of the audited staff.

Additionally, the entity has verified Indra's reputational risk analysis, based on the identification of the expectations of the main stakeholders, as well as the ESG (environmental, social and governance) risk analysis, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the UN.

The evaluation of risk management at the corporate level affects all activities of the Indra group and its subsidiary Minsait in areas such as consultancy, services and systems for transport, defence, energy, industry and consumption, telecommunications , financial services and public administrations.

Aenor has highlighted that one of the strengths of the firm is the implementation throughout the organization of this risk management model and the three pillars that make it up: operational management of the management team and the workforce, the internal control system and Indra's risk management and the line formed by the Internal Audit department and the Compliance Unit.

In its report, the entity underlined "the clear focus on continuous improvement of Indra's risk management model in pursuit of its effectiveness in protecting and generating value, evidencing a high degree of maturity and integration in the different areas of the organization".

The result of the audit also reflects that, in the last year, Indra has improved the management of the 'stakeholders' and the current complex context, considering extra-financial perspectives related to the performance in ESG matters (environmental, social and government), of Human Rights, reputational risks, and especially climate change risks.

In this field, both its work with its clients with sustainability projects and its contribution to the mitigation of this global phenomenon have been highlighted.
