Indra acquires the military training simulator firm Simumak

MADRID, 5 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Indra has acquired the entire capital of the Simumak military training simulator company to strengthen its leadership in this type of product with new solutions and capabilities.

Simumak, with implementation especially in Spain and Latin America, has delivered more than 5,000 simulators in around twenty countries around the world.

Indra has highlighted in a statement that the operation will allow it to acquire new solutions and consolidate the sector in Spain, while gaining a presence in international markets.

"This operation is in line with our strategy of making acquisitions that contribute to further accelerating our international growth in areas with strong potential, both in the civil and military spheres", highlighted Indra's CEO, Ignacio Mataix.

The manager has also highlighted the complementarity of the solutions portfolio of both firms, as well as their teams and customer base. In addition, he has shown his confidence that the combination of skills will multiply development capabilities and provide "notable improvements" in production times.

For his part, the CEO of Simumak, David Morán, has highlighted the "scalable capacities" for the provision of services of the firm and the benefits in terms of business and international presence that integration into Indra will entail.

Both companies are committed to training that goes beyond the instruction of the student in the control of a vehicle and platform and forces them to respond to challenges and situations of maximum difficulty and stress.

Simumak's ground simulators have "enormous potential" for training the crew of combat tanks and armored vehicles, according to Indra. Likewise, the interoperability and connectivity of the systems facilitates, in turn, a joint virtual training of the soldiers regardless of whether they are in different bases.

Indra, for its part, has more than 400 professionals dedicated to these tasks and has developed simulators for different air and ground vehicles such as the Eurofighter or the Pizarro vehicle, for ground troops or the Navy.
