They denounce in the Parliament of Catalonia that this leader of the Islamic community suffers "political repression through the Immigration Law"

BARCELONA, 19 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Board of Spokespersons of the Catalan Parliament has approved this Wednesday a declaration of support for a leader of the Islamic community Mohamed Said Badaoui after his arrest in Reus (Tarragona) for radicalism within an expulsion procedure.

ERC, CUP, Comunes and Junts denounce that he is a victim of "political repression through the Immigration Law" and urge the Generalitat to "activate all administrative, legal and diplomatic tools to ensure his rights".

The statement is committed to repealing the Immigration Law and "confirms the violation" of the detainee's rights, in a text that ERC, Junts, CUP and the commons have supported and has been read in plenary after an extraordinary Board of Spokespersons convened as a result of his arrest by the National Police.

The text maintains that it is a case of "political repression and Islamophobia by the Spanish State, this time through the Immigration Law", and assures that it is an irregular expulsion procedure in which he has been accused of religious extremism without be based on demonstrable facts, according to the declaration.

He maintains that the purpose of the case is "to keep immigrants, especially Muslims, from exercising their lives to the full" and with social and cultural activity, and warns verbatim of the repercussions that he considers the expulsion of a neighbor from Catalonia in these circumstances.

Mohamed Said Badaoui was arrested this Tuesday by the National Police together with another leader of the Islamic community of Catalonia after opening an expulsion file on them, after a report from the information services that decreed his expulsion from the country for "posing a threat for national security" for alleged ideological radicalism.

The Board of Spokespersons has also approved a second statement criticizing the "Turkish attacks on the region of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria", and has called on the international community to act.

The statement, which is supported by ERC, CUP, comuns and Junts, also asks Spain to put an end to deliveries of "military material" to Turkey and withdraw soldiers, and urges the Government to develop international cooperation to protect the victims of the conflict in area.

It also defends the "legitimacy of the peoples of the region who fight democratically to defend" their rights and urges the promotion of peaceful solutions that respect their right to self-determination.
