'Génova' sees "intentionality" against Ayuso in the health protest in Madrid when the problem affects all the CCAAs

Sémper rejects that it could be an "Achilles heel" for his party against 28M and asks the Government of Pedro Sánchez for more doctors

MADRID, 13 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The spokesman for the PP campaign committee, Borja Sémper, has assured that the public health problem affects everyone and cannot be limited to Madrid alone, after the mobilization this Sunday that brought together thousands of people in Cibeles. After assuring that more doctors are needed and that corresponds to the Government of Pedro Sánchez, he has admitted that "many people" attended the protest in Madrid with "good will" but there is also "an obvious intention" against the president of the community, Isabel Diaz Ayuso.

In a press conference at the PP headquarters, after the meeting of the steering committee chaired by Alberto Núñez Feijóo, Sémper has expressed his party's respect for the demonstration this Sunday and has indicated that the PP is "concerned" about give "response to problems", such as the toilet. "Healthcare is one of the challenges that we have to face collectively as a country," he added.

At this point, he stressed that this problem "does not only affect the president of the Community of Madrid" because after the pandemic the health model is "suffering globally throughout the country and in all the Autonomous Communities", in relation to primary care, emergencies or waiting lists.

For this reason, he has said that thinking that there is only one problem with healthcare in Madrid may have "partisan interest" and "does not reflect reality." "This is not a problem that is limited to Madrid", Sémper has abounded, to add that there are also problems in the Valencian Community or in the Basque Country but it is necessary to avoid the 'and you more'.

When expressly asked if these health protests could be the Achilles heel of the PP in the autonomous communities, after the demonstrations that have also taken place in Galicia and Castilla y León, Sémper has rejected that his party values it that way. "It is not an Achilles heel but it is a problem that challenges us all," he stated.

At this point, he has opted for a debate on this issue that goes "to the bottom of the issue" and "does not remain only in partisan interests." In his opinion, there were "many people" at the Madrid demonstration who attended "with good will" but "there is also an obvious intention that the demonstrations turn against certain politicians" and not "in favor of resolving the problem."

The leader of the PP has affirmed that after the pandemic "the seams of the health model have been forced" and it is necessary to "give a global, reasonable, sensible and, if possible, non-partisan response" and "with a head" to a "problem that affects all Spaniards". In his understanding, a "serene" debate should be opened on how to improve the health system and he regretted that this is not possible today.

Sémper has stressed that in Spain doctors and MIR positions are needed and that "questions" the Government of Pedro Sánchez to "solve this problem". "How is it possible that there are no doctors? How is it possible that more MIR positions are not being taken out? How is it possible that the model is suffering in primary care and I don't know an answer to this? This challenges us all and we cannot look the other way", he stated, to highlight that the PP is willing to give an answer.

The spokesman for the PP campaign committee has indicated that "it can be a temptation" in politics "to use health to wear down an autonomous government", but has warned that this "does not provide any solution to a problem that is global for all of Spain ".

Given the statements at the Goya gala claiming public health, Sémper has refused to value the opinions of private citizens and has indicated that the PP is critical of that attitude of the Government of "indicating" people with names and surnames. "I am not going to reproduce that model, which I reject
