'Genoa' asks for an "unequivocal" mandate for Moreno because what is decided on Sunday is "how he is going to govern"

MADRID, 13 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The national leadership of the PP led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo has requested this Monday a "clear and unequivocal" mandate for its candidate for the Presidency of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, because what is decided next Sunday, according to what the polls collect, is "how is he going to govern".

Precisely, this Monday six polls have been published that point to a broad victory for the Popular Party, with up to 53 seats (the absolute majority is 55), in the regional elections on Sunday, in which the left would not manage to add to unseat Moreno, who could even govern alone, without the need to incorporate Vox into the ranks of a future government. In 2018, the PP won 26 seats and 20.8% of the support.

In 'Genoa' there is fear that the abstention could affect them and these days they have doubled the calls for participation alerted by the heat - it is Corpus Christi in Andalusia this weekend - and the confidence that the polls show. The PP leader himself called for a "last effort to reach the finish line" this weekend.

The national leadership of the PP is "satisfied" with the campaign because it considers that they have managed to "get the message across" that Andalusia needs "stability, moderation, good sense, think about the economy and employment and unity around Juanma Moreno", according to assured the Vice Secretary of Institutional, Esteban González Pons.

In addition, he stressed that in these elections the PP "is not facing the PSOE, as in 2019, but rather abstention". "The PP does not give any vote for won and not for lost", Pons added at a press conference after the management committee chaired by Feijóo.

That said, he has asked the Andalusians, now that it seems clear who is going to govern according to the polls, a "clear and unequivocal mandate" so that Moreno can govern alone without depending on any other political force that "conditions his government ", referring to Vox.

"Now that it seems that it is clear who is going to govern, what is decided next Sunday is how he is going to govern," Pons assured, adding that what the Andalusians are being asked is "how do they want him to govern" the PP candidate. "It seems clear, according to the polls, who would preside over the Board and now voters decide if they can do that presidency alone or will have to depend on other political forces", he has abounded.

After an intense agenda on Saturday and Sunday in Andalusia, with several events in Córdoba, Málaga and Cádiz, Feijóo will return this week to this autonomy to support the Andalusian PP in the final stretch of the campaign.

Thus, the president of the PP will turn this Wednesday and Thursday in Almería and Jaén. In the first, the 'popular' want to stop the rise of Santiago Abascal's party. In principle, Feijóo is not expected to support Moreno at the campaign closing rally.

Apart from Feijóo, the Andalusian PP will also be supported by the general secretary of the PP and spokesperson for the Popular Group in Congress, Cuca Gamarra. This Monday he has traveled to Seville to hold an act together with the general coordinator and Andalusian counselor, Elías Bendodo, and this Tuesday he will be in Huelva, where he has several electoral acts planned throughout the day.
