MURCIA, 27 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), Antonio Garamendi, said this Friday in Murcia that the implementation of the 4-day-a-week working day is part of "the debates to win elections", and has stated that "Right now five days are needed."

Speaking to the media before participating in the 44th edition of the Murcia employers' association meeting, Garamendi reiterated that "when you talk seriously about issues they have a thousand nuances", and that, "curiously, when you always talk about it is those of the same group who speak them and meet with each other".

"We are in permanent elections and we are in politics, and we do not engage in politics, we build companies," said the leader of CEOE, who, however, has assured that when this issue "comes to the table" of negotiation "we will talk about it " because "it depends on the sector and the company".

In line, he insisted that in the current economic context, in which "we are coming out of a very deep hole", small Spanish companies represent 98% and the average for each of them is five people.

"In a pharmacy where the job is for four days, nobody is going to accept the job for one day. In any case, we always sit at the table and are willing to talk about what touches, but when it touches", has added.
