Gamarra demands that the Government not "make up" the unemployment figures and clarify the "mystery" of the discontinuous landlines

The general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, has asked the Government "not to make up the unemployment figures" while regretting that Yolanda Díaz, "the data minister", does not know the number of permanent-discontinuous workers. "They don't want to give it away or they don't want to find it because then it will be possible to see that jobs are being destroyed and the figures are not what they say."

Gamarra has made these statements during the Regional Board of Directors that the PP has held this Saturday in the Círculo Logroñés. The meeting of the highest body of the party has brought together parliamentarians, municipal representatives and officials from this political formation and has been chaired by the president of the PP of La Rioja, Alberto Galiana.

During her speech, the general secretary of the PP has criticized "the mystery" of the permanent-discontinuous workers, figures that the Government "refuses to reveal" or says "that it does not know what that data is".

Given this, he has indicated, "we do not know if it is ignorance or bad faith but what is clear is that they do not want to give it or do not want to find it because it will be possible to see that jobs are being destroyed and the figures are not what they say".

As Gamarra explained, "turning the temporary into a discontinuous fixed one does not change the circumstances of those who only work one month throughout the year and that is what they do not want to see, that is why they say they do not know the figures."

Thus, he concluded, "it is strange that Yolanda Díaz, the data minister, does not have this information, perhaps it is that she does not like that we find it but we will continue and find it."
