Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Jan calls for military support after denouncing police abuse to his senior adviser

The former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Jan has asked for the support of the Army this Saturday after denouncing police abuse against his main adviser, Shahbaz Gill, who has come to ensure that he was the victim of sexual abuse in custody in a case of alleged sedition.

"I want to say to the 'neutrals'", Jan declared tonight in reference to the Army, a hugely influential force in Pakistan despite declaring itself independent of the country's political development, "that we are dealing with a matter of national interest, and that it is important that they support us and justice, and not these government thieves".

Jan has hinted during his speech that the police were following "orders from above" in their alleged torture of Gill. "Every time we have asked them, they told us that they were not to blame for anything, that they were kicked in the ass so that they would follow orders," said the former prime minister in his appearance, collected by the newspaper 'Dawn'.

The former president, expelled from power after a motion of censure that, according to him, was the result of a US conspiracy, was even more critical last Friday about Gill's situation. "All the photos and videos clearly show that Gill was mentally and physically tortured, including sexual abuse," he denounced on his Twitter account.

The country's Information Minister, Marriyum Aurangzeb, criticized Jan's statements on Saturday, whom she accused of carrying out a "false propaganda" exercise, before assuring that the adviser is "perfectly fine."

"There has been no violence and the videos that are shared on social networks are false," Aurangzeb assured, before adding the videos that circulate on the networks about the alleged torture are actually those of a man accused of rape and not Gill. , arrested on August 9 for allegedly inciting a mutiny among the Armed Forces.
