Ferrovial is awarded the expansion of a motorway in North Carolina for more than 278 million euros

MADRID, 19 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Ferrovial, through Webber -a construction subsidiary in the United States-, has been awarded the extension of a 12.8-kilometre section of the I-95 motorway, located in North Carolina, valued at a total of 283 million dollars (278 million euros), as reported by the infrastructure operator company in a statement.

Specifically, the United States Department of Transportation has selected the company to carry out the work, which includes several works such as increasing the capacity of the road from four to eight lanes, replacing several bridges and overpasses and the improvement of the sewage system. This work is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

As explained by Ferrovial, this work will improve the safety of the motorway, while reducing congestion and guaranteeing more reliable travel times.

The contract represents Webber's second project in North Carolina, adding to the activity carried out by other divisions of the company. The subsidiary is currently working on 52 civil works projects in Texas, Georgia, Virginia and North Carolina.
