Feijóo says that he has "advanced" with Sánchez in the renewal of the CGPJ and TC with a "new framework" of independence

The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has assured after his meeting with the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, that they have "progressed" to address the renewal of the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ) and the Constitutional Court (TC) with a "new framework" that deepens criteria of "independence".

This has been written in a note on his twitter account by the leader of the PP after the meeting of more than three hours that he has held with the chief executive and to which the negotiators of this matter have joined.

"We have made progress to address the joint renewal of the CGPJ and TC with a new framework that deepens independence criteria," said Feijóo, who considers that "this step could have been taken much earlier."

However, he added that he is confident that "a legal reform will also be possible as the EU is asking for and the PP has been asking for months."
