Feijóo reveals that the PP has called minority groups to talk about the motion of censure and had hardly any support

MADRID, 13 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the PP, Alberto Nuñez Feijoo, has revealed this Tuesday that the Popular Party has maintained contacts with minority groups to "find out their opinion on a possible motion of censure" and "almost all" have told them that they would not support it, except for the two deputies from UPN and the parliamentarian from Foro Asturias. Although he has not closed the door to a possible abstention if that motion is finally presented, he has made it clear that the PP would not support Santiago Abascal as a candidate.

In an interview in Esradio, which has been collected by Europa Press, Feijoo has expressed his rejection of a motion of no confidence because, as he has said, it helps to "strengthen" Pedro Sánchez by giving him a parliamentary victory in Congress. Faced with this, he has defended early elections in Spain and that it is the Spanish who speak at the polls.

"It seems political fiction to me that a group submits a vote of no confidence with an unknown candidate," he emphasized, to ensure that this person should have government experience. When asked if the PP would vote for Vox's motion of no confidence, he replied that they are going to see "who the candidate is".

Questioned later if he would support that motion if the candidate is the president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, Feijóo replied: "I already anticipate that no", although he added: "We are not going to oppose a motion of no confidence in Spain" , thus leaving the door open to a possible abstention.
