Feijóo assures that he would not reach the Government "at any price" and calls the ministers "mediocre"

He does not rule out agreeing again with the PSOE "if it resets, has an electoral defeat and changes its general secretary"

MADRID, 29 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has assured that he would be ashamed of having ministers like the current ones who prove "enormous mediocrity" and has emphasized that he would not come to power "at any price" because "he would not be able to tell the Spaniards do some things in the electoral campaign and do exactly the opposite during the Government".

This has been stated in an interview with El Confidencial, collected by Europa Press, where the opposition leader affirms that he is "little surprised" by the "fire at the discretion" of the Government and its ministers. "I did not understand it because I did not think that the Government could be so mediocre but after the months I have confirmed that they are like that, mediocre," he maintained.

"On some occasion, certain disqualifications make me smile because I wonder if they are so in need that the Minister of Science compares me to Trump, or that ministers who have not managed a single euro lecture me, or that others who have not even finished their university studies are allowed to say that I am illiterate", he added.

In this regard, he stressed that for thirteen years he managed thirteen budgets, which together totaled 130,000 or 140,000 million euros, which were the Xunta budgets. "I don't know how many people in active politics can accredit so much experience in managing public affairs", he asserted.

Feijóo has acknowledged that sometimes he gets the "impression" that he is the president of the Executive and the ministers "form the opposition bank." The popular leader has stated that Pedro Sánchez and he could agree on some things "as people" but "not on what politics and public life are", adding that he is committed to a management that "does not divide, that does not fragment, in which the Government does not dedicate itself to making the opposition to the opposition".

In this sense, he regretted that Sánchez's strategy of attrition has been "not to have any contact" with him, as is the case with the ministers, who have the objective "of disqualifying the head of the opposition every day."

Asked if he rules out any possibility of a great transversal agreement with the PSOE, Feijóo affirms that he does not rule it out "if the PSOE resets itself, if it has an electoral defeat and changes its general secretary." GOVERNING SPAIN LIKE THE PP GOVERNS

In addition, he has pointed out that his way of governing the PP is how Spain is governed and "Spain is the State of the autonomies", and he has reaffirmed his belief in them, but they have to give the results. "If they play well, great. If not, then you have to adjust and make the necessary changes as a team does when it doesn't have good results", he acknowledged.

Feijóo has indicated that his current project at the head of the PP is the most "important" that he is going to do in his life and has indicated that he would not be able to leave voluntarily. "I feel that my life has been a preparation to get here," he reiterated.
