Feijóo accuses the PSC of giving "support to the independence movement" and seeking to "share power" with ERC after 28M

MADRID, 1 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, has accused the PSC this Wednesday of giving "support to the independence movement" after the budget agreement that they have closed with the Government and has indicated that this pact confirms that the Socialists seek to continue governing with ERC to "distribute power" in municipalities and councils after the elections on May 28,

Specifically, the Government and the PSC have reached an agreement on the Generalitat Budget for 2023 after three months of negotiations, sources from the Government and the Socialists have reported. This pact is added to the one closed with the communes in December and with it the Catalan Executive ensures the parliamentary majority necessary to approve the Budgets, which increase the resources of the Generalitat by some 3,100 million euros for 2023.

In an interview on Onda Cero, which has been collected by Europa Press, Feijóo has indicated that the agreement between the Government and the PSC confirms that the independence movement is "fractured" and "broken" and now "that rupture is crystallizing." In addition, he has indicated that the elimination of the crime of sedition and the reduction of embezzlement is "a part of the budget that is accredited today."

In his opinion, the PSC "is no longer what it was said to be to get many votes in Catalonia", a "constitutionalist party", but rather a "party that supports the Catalan independence movement". In addition, he has indicated that today's pact confirms that the PSC "will continue to govern" with ERC in the town halls and councils, directly or indirectly, to "share power in Catalonia."

In any case, he has admitted that he is "happy" that there are Budgets in Catalonia and "some things are done" beyond the "monumental mess that they have made the Catalan people", alluding to the 'procés'. "Unless I have the accounts, it's good news," he said.
