The new orders of the German industry registered last August a decrease of 2.4% compared to the previous month, when they had increased by 1.9%, according to the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
On their side, in year-on-year terms, new orders from German factories in August decreased by 4.1%.
Domestic orders fell 3.4% in August, while international orders fell 1.7% from the previous month. Specifically, orders from the euro zone decreased by 3.8% and new orders from other countries fell by 0.4%.
In the case of producers of capital goods, orders received registered a decrease of 2.4% compared to the previous month. Intermediate goods producers saw new orders fall 4.2%, while consumer goods producers saw orders rise 5.2%.
