Experts examine the possible end of the volcano eruption in Iceland

COPENHAGEN, 26 Aug. (DPA/EP) -

The eruption of the Icelandic volcano Reykjanes, which began in early August, seems to have come to an end, according to Civil Protection services, which have not detected seismic activity or lava flow since Sunday.

Experts have not yet declared the end of the eruption and, in fact, have warned that the activity could resume, for which they have urged not to lower their guard, according to the RUV television network.

The volcano, located in a valley near the Fagradalsfjall mountain, 30 kilometers from the Icelandic capital, erupted on August 3 and has become a tourist attraction.

The authorities have recommended that those who approach the area do so by a certain, simpler route, although the lower volcano activity in recent days has also resulted in a reduction in visits to the area.
