Esther González: "A divided team has not been seen on the pitch"

MADRID, 2 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The forward of the Spanish team Esther González valued the commitment and ambition shown on the field this Friday, as well as the union between players, to beat Hungary (3-0) and hope to recover "normality" after the controversy raised in Jorge Vilda's locker room.

"It has been difficult. Everything that comes out is always complicated. We have tried to focus on sports, which is where we enjoy and we have avoided everything. Yesterday's training session was one of the best and today we have been continuously trying, a team with ambition," he said at a press conference.

The Andalusian player opened the can in Las Rozas in the victory (3-0) against Hungary to maintain an unblemished path in qualifying for the World Cup. The clash came in the midst of a strong controversy in the locker room, due to discrepancies between the players and the coaching staff that came to light these days.

"We have shown the dynamics that we came from, knowing how to differentiate and, above all, compete on the green. Here the connection between all of us is magnificent. What we all want is to advance, to return to normality as soon as possible. It has been a difficult situation but from Monday to now there is a breakthrough," he said.

The Real Madrid striker also denied that within the team's locker room there is a division between the players. "You talk about division, it's the part that you like a lot, but on the field you haven't seen a divided team at any time. You've seen a team that wants to achieve things together. Not everything is true what you've got, us inside we have made a bunker", he finished.
