ERC warns Sánchez that he will not be able to negotiate the PGE while there are still pending cases for the 'procés'

The ERC spokesman in Congress, Gabriel Rufián, warned the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, on Thursday that in order to negotiate the General State Budgets for 2023, the "repression" must end and there cannot continue to be pending cases for the Catalan independence process. "Do you think that something can be negotiated in this way? What is your word worth?" He asked from the speaker's gallery of the hemicycle.

Rufián has taken advantage of the debate on the last European Council and the anti-crisis measures to put on the table his conditions to be able to negotiate the hypothetical support of his formation for next year's public accounts. "It's simple," he explained to Sánchez, summoning him to "comply with the unfulfilled, improve what was promised and build trust" so that "his word of him is worth something."

In this context, before those who "say that the repression has ended and that the Government is committed to dialogue", Rufián has recalled the people who continue to have pending cases or are disqualified on account of the 'procés' and also those who, he has denounced, continues to be "spied on" with the 'Pegasus' program.

"Do you think that something can be negotiated this way? What is your word worth? Don't do this to please the people of Catalonia, do this for democracy," he asked the president.
