Elche and Almería share the spoils at the Martínez Valero

MADRID, 22 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Elche and Almería could not get past the draw (1-1) at the Martínez Valero on matchday two of LaLiga Santander thanks to goals from Umar Sadiq for the Andalusians and Álex Collado for the locals, sharing the spoils in a duel with a team Dominating ilicitano in the first half, but that was diluted in the second half, when the exchange of blows was overshadowed by the lack of success caused by fatigue.

The match began with the dominance of the local team with the ball, boosted by the push of the fans to win the first approaches with the most danger of the match. Álex Collado, lying on the right wing, was the absolute protagonist of the Elche attack. However, Almería was very well planted during the first 15 minutes, holding, in a certain way, the first stakes of Elche.

The lack of success and effectiveness was paid for by the locals in the 22nd minute, when the Andalusian team's striker Umar Sadiq, who had previously suffered a somewhat spectacular blow in a set with Enzo Roco, to overtake Rubi's men with a powerful header in the far post after a corner kick. The Catalan coach's board prevailed over the local defensive network to unclog a game that, until that moment, was owned by Elche.

The people of Elche were not daunted by Almería's blow, which only created danger from corner kicks thanks to its aerial power. Elche continued to trust their alternatives to Collado, motivated in his debut, who finally found the reward after the umpteenth attempt with a changed leg at the edge of the area.

The player trained in La Masía connected a great shot with his left leg, adjusting the ball to the short post of the goal defended by Fernando, who could not do anything. The ecstasy generated by the local goal did not translate into the second goal, with Almería celebrating the arrival of the break.

In the second 45 minutes, the script changed. Elche's dominance was no longer such, and madness prevailed on the pitch. Exchange of blows between both teams, with a double chance for Roger Martí and Álex Collado, the most active of the match, in a single minute when only two were played in the second half. It didn't take long for Almería's response to arrive, which ten minutes later had it with a header that didn't go in thanks to the intervention of Edgar Badía and the post.

But Elche kept trying and was able to make it 2-1 with a header from Tete Morente after a beautiful cross from Gumbau. When the 68th minute was running, Francisco Rodríguez wanted to give a blow to the duel by introducing Lucas Boyé to the detriment of Eze Ponce, with a Collado that faded away as the minutes went by, after Almería intensified surveillance on the ex of the Granada.

He also added his first minutes with Almería Leo Baptistao, in a last quarter match in which the chances continued to drop, although both teams began to feel tired, being aware that a mistake would cost dearly and could make them lose the prize of the tie at the Martínez Valero. Many comings and goings, but little success. The fear of defeat reigned in the last minutes, taking into account that they will presumably be two direct rivals to maintain the category.
