El Corte Inglés continues to reorder its offer: it closes Serrano 52 and sells two premises in Seville and Córdoba

El Corte Inglés continues with the reorganization of its offer and decides to close Serrano 52 Man and concentrate all the activity of this center in Serrano 47 Woman, while it has decided to sell two premises located in Seville and Córdoba, as confirmed to Europa Press in company sources.

In this way, the objective of the distribution group is to group all its commercial offer in the center of Serrano 47, including the gastronomic offer of the Gourmet Experience, with the restaurants of Street XO, Dabiz Muñoz, the Mexican Salón Cascabel and Rocambolesc.

This decision will materialize in August after the company chaired by Marta Álvarez has decided not to renew the rental contract for the Serrano 52 Man building.

Likewise, El Corte Inglés has decided to put up for sale two premises in Andalusia, specifically in Seville and Córdoba through an operation through which it could obtain 50 million euros, according to reports on Tuesday by 'El Confidencial'.

Specifically, in the case of Seville, the group's idea is to get rid of a place specialized in sports and whose offer will go to the nearby center of Plaza del Duque de la Victoria, while in the case of Córdoba, it is a place that It had been closed for many years, without any activity.

Thus, El Corte Inglés follows the same scheme as that planned for Castellana, Sanchinarro and El Bercial after closing Vaguada and Parquesur, as well as for Bilbao, where it will concentrate all its offer in its emblematic Gran Via center, located at numbers 7 and 9 , starting this summer, after closing the one also located on the same street, at number 20.

In this way, the distribution group will reorganize its offer in Madrid, Bilbao and Seville with the aim of achieving greater efficiency and facilitating and improving the shopping experience of its customers.

In the case of Bilbao, the cessation of activity at the El Corte Inglés center located at Gran Via number 20 is also a consequence of the non-renewal of the rental contract.

After the closure of this center, scheduled for the end of July, the approximately 70 employees will be relocated to the group's main building on Bilbao's 'golden mile'.

In Madrid, it will reorder its offer and reinforce the Castellana, Sanchinarro, El Bercial and Serrano 47 Woman centers after the closure of the Vaguada and Parquesur (Leganés) establishments at the end of next July, a decision that will affect some 500 employees , to which Serrano 52 Man is also added.

Union sources consulted by Europa Press have indicated that the group has already communicated its intention to close the centers this summer, while they have asked the company to take into account the preferences of the employees when executing the relocations.

The company has informed the unions that it will offer the affected workforce their relocation to other establishments, taking into account their destination preferences, the proximity of the centers to their homes and their professional skills.
