El Corte Inglés appoints four new executive positions to support its general managers

MADRID, 29 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) -

El Corte Inglés advances in the reorganization of its management leadership and has created four new executive positions with the aim of supporting José María Folache and Santiago Bau, appointed general directors of the group after the departure of Víctor del Pozo last March.

Specifically, the group's board of directors has appointed these four "transversal" directorates which, in addition to supporting the work of Folache and Bau, will report to the delegated executive committee, chaired by Marta Álvarez, as Europa Press has been informed in sources of the company.

Thus, the group has appointed Antonio Ortega, director of Transformation; Javier Catena, Director of Operations; Enrique Solbes, Director of Technology and Systems and Alfonso Gordon, Director of Talent.

The first two appointments are for internal promotion, while the other two, Solbes, from Banco Sabadell, and Gordon, from Nueva Pescanova, are external incorporations.

Likewise, the distribution group has appointed Ángel Gastaca as the company's new director of Human Resources.

From the company they have highlighted that said reorganization is due to the objective of advancing in the adaptation of the best corporate practices, with a scheme that clearly differentiates between Government, Management and Support Areas.

Likewise, it is a commitment to people and talent management, key to a corporate culture aimed at promoting talent, with professional career planning, and focused on technology, within the firm's plan to be a company 100% omnichannel.

In addition, the company creates an operating unit to bring together the supply chain, logistics and 'Real Estate' businesses.
