Echenique hopes to convince the PSOE to unblock the law for the coordination of firefighting services

The spokesman for United We Can in Congress, Pablo Echenique, has stated that they will try to convince the PSOE to unblock as soon as possible the law on the coordination of fire prevention and extinction services, as well as the specific statute of forest firefighters.

This is how it was transferred moments before participating in the round table 'Political threats: the rise of the extreme right and the role of the left', within the framework of the summer courses at the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM).

For Echenique, these two initiatives have been "blocked for too long", the legislative project in Congress and the statute within the Executive, when both are commitments of the coalition agreement that served for the investiture of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez.

Therefore, and given the "tragedy" that Spain is experiencing with the succession of fires in recent times, the leader of the purple group has said that the first thing is to show solidarity with the people affected by the fire and thank the work of the "public servants " who "risk their lives" putting out these fires.

But also the people who have institutional responsibility must "take care of the people who care" and, consequently, they will seek that the PSOE unblock the law of coordination of the extinction services and the statute of the forest firefighters as soon as possible.
