Díaz regrets the violation of democratic norms in Peru and shows his support for the Peruvian people

BRUSELAS, 8 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Second Vice President and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, has deeply regretted the violation of democratic norms and has conveyed all her support to the Peruvian people after the until now president of the country, Pedro Castillo, dissolved the Parliament on Wednesday and established a curfew hours before facing his third vote of no confidence.

In statements in Brussels, where he has participated in a meeting with his European counterparts, Díaz has reacted to the announcements made this Wednesday by the hitherto Peruvian president, Pedro Castillo, who was arrested and dismissed hours after announcing the dissolution of the Parliament, decreeing an exceptional government and call new legislative elections.

Hours later, Dina Boluarte was sworn in this Wednesday as the new president of Peru, thus becoming the first in the country's history, since as vice president, as established by the Constitution, she had to assume office after the removal of Castillo by Congress.

Given the situation in Peru, Díaz assured this Thursday that the Government of Spain is "always in favor" of constitutional and democratic rules, as well as the defense of human rights both in Peru and in any other country in the world.
