The Minister of Social Rights highlights having convinced her partner about the rentals, although she regrets that mortgages are not frozen

MADRID, 27 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The second vice president, Yolanda Díaz, and the leader of Podemos, Ione Belarra, have expressed their satisfaction with the measures included in the new anti-crisis decree that has promoted their political space, especially in housing, after a "difficult" negotiation with the PSOE.

This morning Díaz and the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, have closed the last fringes of the decree during a meeting, which finally includes freezing the rental price when contracts have to be renewed for six months, together with the 2% limit for the update of the leases.

For their part, Belarra and the head of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, also addressed details of the extension of the anti-crisis plan and especially that relating to rent, which was also outlined this morning.

In a video broadcast on social networks, the also Minister of Social Rights has highlighted having achieved "very important" measures in housing, transport and the new help check for the 200-euro shopping basket for vulnerable families.

In this regard, she has expressed that she feels "especially satisfied" to convince the PSOE that it was "essential" to take these measures from the Government, although she has regretted not having been able to include the freezing of variable-rate mortgage installments in a negotiation "very difficult". Of course, she has promised that they will continue working "until everything they are told is impossible is possible".

Meanwhile, Díaz has also highlighted in networks that housing is a "fundamental right" and therefore actions regarding rental are included. He has also outlined the relevance of the new aid check of 200 euros, given that his department had highlighted that lowering VAT on food was insufficient and should be complemented with other social protection measures.

"These are difficult times for many people in our country and we need more than ever for politics to be useful. This government is going to continue caring for the people and working for the common good with the new decree," he emphasized on his personal Twitter account. .
