Cs accuses Delgado of "sectarian conduct" at the head of the Prosecutor's Office and points out that "never" should have been attorney general

MADRID, 19 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The deputy secretary general of Ciudadanos, Edmundo Bal, has accused Dolores Delgado, who has resigned as state attorney general, of "sectarian conduct" at the head of the Prosecutor's Office, stressing that "never" should have held that position.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, Bal has indicated that Delgado came to serve as state attorney general "directly from the government."

"With our law, which is blocked by the PSOE and the PP, we would have saved the Spaniards from sectarian behavior at the head of the Prosecutor's Office and his successor would be chosen on merit and without fingers", added the also spokesman for the 'orange' formation in Congress of the Deputies.

Ciudadanos proposes the parliamentary election of the State Attorney General through a reinforced majority.

Delgado is preparing his resignation as head of the Public Ministry shortly after returning from a medical leave due to an operation on his spine and after a two-and-a-half-year term marked by criticism. He says that he resigns with a "satisfactory" balance sheet.
