Congress will study measures to facilitate the deployment of charging points for electric vehicles

MADRID, 12 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The PSOE, United We Can and Esquerra Republicana have joined the PP, Ciudadanos, PNV and Foro Asturias to promote a working group in Congress to study possible legal changes to facilitate the installation of electric and hydrogen recharging points and their impact on the automotive industry.

Thus, his proposal to create a subcommittee was endorsed this week by a large majority by the Committee on Industry, Commerce and Tourism of the Lower House, with the only opposition from Vox. The proposal must be endorsed by the plenary session of Congress to proceed with its implementation.

In statements to Europa Press, the main promoter of the initiative, the ERC deputy Joan Capdevila, expects the broad consensus shown in the vote "to remain in a proactive and constructive spirit that allows the threats that hang over this important critical point of emission-free mobility.

“In the end, it is what everyone, except the deniers, are looking for,” ironically added the president of the Congress Industry Commission, veiledly alluding to the contrary vote of the Vox deputies.

With this subcommittee, Capdevila hopes to be able to "listen to all the actors in this equation, public and private" and in six months to be able to present "a list of bottlenecks, particularly legislative ones, which is what the Legislative Power is for, but also industrial, that can impede a quick and efficient implementation of recharging points".
