Congress summons the Bank of Spain to start the appearances of Budgets

MADRID, 13 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Governor of the Bank of Spain, Pablo Hernández de Cos, will open next Monday, October 17, the round of appearances by senior officials in the Budget Committee in Congress to explain the 2023 General State Budget project.

The appearance of Hernández de Cos is scheduled to start at 12:00, according to the draft schedule of appearances agreed in this Commission, to which Europa Press has had access.

In the absence of confirming the availability of all senior positions, that same Monday the Secretary of State for Budgets and Expenditures, María José Gualda; the Secretary of State for the Treasury, Jesús Gascón; and the Secretary of State for Digitization and Artificial Intelligence, Carme Artigas.

The following day, Tuesday, October 18, the appearances will be opened at 8:30 a.m. by the president of the Independent Authority for Fiscal Responsibility (AIReF), Cristina Herrero, and the Secretaries of State for Social Security and Pensions, Borja Suárez, are also expected to attend. ; that of Public Function, Lidia Sánchez; of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures, María González Veracruz.

Already in the afternoon, the forecast is to receive the Secretary of State for Democratic Memory, Fernando Martínez; the General Secretaries of Regional and Local Financing, European Funds, and the Treasury and International Financing, and the President of the ICO, José Carlos García de Quevedo.

On Wednesday it will be the turn of the president of the CIS, José Félix Tezanos; the president of SEPI, María Belén Gualda; the interim president of the Board of Directors of the RTVE Corporation, Elena Sánchez; the general director of the Tax Agency, Soledad Fernández; the president of the FROB, Paula Conthe; and the high commissioners for the fight against child poverty, Ernesto Gasco, and for Spain an entrepreneurial nation, Francisco Polo.

In addition to these appearances, the rest of senior officials from other ministerial departments will parade throughout the next week in the rest of the commissions to explain the new public accounts.

At the end of the week, the opposition groups will have to decide if they defend a total amendment to try to bring down the Budgets. These amendments will be debated on October 26 and 27, at the end of which they will be put to the vote in what will be the first parliamentary examination of the project.
