Ciudadanos denounces that PSOE stops Bolaños from explaining in Congress the linguistic pacts with Aragonès

MADRID, 29 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The deputy spokesman for Citizens in Congress, Edmundo Bal, has charged the PSOE and United We Can for having stopped the request for appearance registered by his group at the Chamber Table so that the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, gives an account of the agreements on linguistic matters reached with the Catalan Executive chaired by Pere Aragonès.

The orange formation requested that Bolaños give explanations to the Constitutional Commission about the statements made by the president of the Generalitat revealing the existence of an agreement with the Government to breach the Supreme Court ruling that requires teaching 25% of classes in Spanish in Catalonia.

However, the governing body of the Chamber has asked Citizens to reformulate their request since a member of the central Executive cannot appear to account for a matter that is outside their jurisdiction, such as the declarations of a regional president.

In statements to Europa Press, Edmundo Bal denounced that the two parties that support the government are preventing Bolaños from appearing because Ciudadanos "has caught the coalition executive in a lie."

And it is that, as he relates, when his training requested in writing to know the agenda of the last meeting of the Dialogue table on Catalonia, the Government replied that in that meeting only the methodology that would be followed for the preparation of the following appointments of this organ, but later the reality was different.

"They want to get it out of the way because we have caught them in a lie," Bal remarked, emphasizing that it was after that meeting that Aragonès announced an agreement to leave that Supreme Court ruling without application in Catalonia.
