Citizens will hold the primaries to renew their leadership on January 9 and 10, 2023, although the president of the party, Inés Arrimadas, has once again refused to announce whether or not she will be eligible for re-election.

The date of the primaries, confirmed to Europa Press by party sources, is established in the regulations that will govern the Extraordinary General Assembly that will take place a few days after the vote, on the 13th, 14th and 15th of the same month, and with the that the party will complete its refoundation process.

Arrimadas has informed this Monday at a press conference that the National Executive Committee has approved during this day the draft of the regulation, to which the General Council, the highest body between assemblies, will have to give its approval.

The 'orange' leader has again avoided revealing her plans and has referred to the approval of the regulations, in her opinion a sign that the formation follows "scrupulously" the deadlines set for its renewal. Of the refoundation process, Arrimadas has stressed that the party "continues to work" and has mentioned the visits to different parts of Spain, such as the event held in Valencia on Sunday to present its candidate, Fernando Giner.
