Citizens denounce "grievances" between Autonomous Communities in the last distribution of the Treasury and propose a leveling fund

MADRID, 2 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) -

Citizens have denounced in a parliamentary initiative a "grievance" between autonomous communities in the last distribution of resources made by the Ministry of Finance, which includes the final settlement of payments on account for the 2020 financial year, and has registered a written question addressed to the Government in which it proposes the creation of a leveling fund while the regional financing model is reformed.

Those of Inés Arrimadas have raised a battery of written questions in Congress related to regional financing, and, more specifically, with the under-financing of communities such as the Valencian Community or Murcia.

In this context, they directly question the Government if it "has considered" urgently approving transitory measures, such as the creation of this leveling fund, while the autonomous financing model is reformed.

In fact, this was one of the demands that several autonomous communities, including some governed by the socialists, made to the Ministry of Finance during the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council. As revealed by some regional councilors, the department headed by María Jesús Montero had promised to take note of this request.

Likewise, Ciudadanos also asks the Government if, once the new system is approved, "it will recognize the accumulated financing deficits suffered by some communities such as Valencia or Murcia, considering the establishment of compensation mechanisms."

Regarding the deadlines that the Government is managing to start this reform of the model, those of Arrimadas recall that "there is still more than a year" before the end of the legislature, for which they question the Executive if it has the "intention" of starting this process of reform.

Currently, the Ministry of Finance has to answer the allegations that the autonomous communities sent to its reform proposal, which had as its main criterion, that of the adjusted population.
