CaixaBank decides to sell its headquarters in Madrid

MADRID, 1 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

CaixaBank has decided to put its headquarters in Madrid, located at number 51 Paseo de la Castellana, up for sale, market sources confirmed to Europa Press.

The building, built in 1978, was the work of the architect José María Bosch Aymerich and has an area of around 30,000 square metres. La Caixa bought it in 1979 and opened its operational headquarters there in Madrid in 1980.

The entity sold part of the building to Inmobiliaria Colonial in 1992, which it later repurchased in 2008. After the merger with Bankia, CaixaBank also maintains a corporate headquarters in Torres Kio, at number 185 Paseo de la Castellana.

A few weeks ago 'El Confidencial' advanced that the entity had activated the sale of the property, while this Wednesday 'Expansión' reveals that the sale mandate has already been given to CBRE to close the divestment before August.

Both media encrypt the amount for which CaixaBank could sell the building for amounts between 230 and 275 million euros. The bank did not comment.
