BRUSSELS, June 9 (EUROPA PRESS) -
The European Commission has demanded this Thursday that Algeria "reverse" the decision to suspend the friendship treaty signed almost two decades ago with Spain and that governs relations between the two countries, defending the dialogue between Madrid and Algiers to resolve their differences.
After the Algerian authorities announced the suspension of the treaty in retaliation for the "unjustifiable" support of the Government of Pedro Sánchez for Morocco's autonomy plan for Western Sahara, the main spokesman for the European Commission, Eric Mamer, urged this Thursday to Algeria to "reverse" the decision, which it has described as "extremely worrying".
