Bolaños proclaims that ERC stopped being "left" when it voted against the labor reform

The Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, has proclaimed this Wednesday in Congress that ERC ceased to be "left" in February 2022 when it voted against the labor reform promoted by the Government and, in addition, has branded it as "incoherent". to one of his usual parliamentary partners for demanding the deployment of regulations that are approved without his support, such as the Democratic Memory Law.

It has been in the control session in a scuffle with the deputy spokesperson for ERC, Carolina Telechea who, precisely, has blamed him for the fact that, four months after the entry into force of this rule, the Government has not yet applied it or He has even made decisions that, in his opinion, go against it, such as the authorization in Madrid of a tribute to the Blue Division.

Telechea has denounced that no Spanish nationality has yet been issued in accordance with the new norm, has accused the Government of failing to comply with it for not including the "nullity" of the sentences of Francoist courts in the judicial files and has reminded it that there was a deadline six months to approve a regulation and four have already passed since the law came into force.

"Nothing makes us think that they are going to comply", he confessed, before concluding that the Government made this rule to "hang the little progress medal" but in reality "everything will continue the same because that is the PSOE brand". "Our abstention was not a vote of confidence, it was a vote of warning," she added, guaranteeing that they will continue to demand compliance with the law.

Bolaños has assured that "of course" the Government will implement this norm, not only in the remainder of this legislature but also in the next one, and that, in fact, it is already doing so by financing the recovery of the remains of disappeared people and making recognitions to all the victims of the dictatorship.

But he has taken advantage of his reply to show how "inconsistent" it is, from his point of view, for ERC to demand compliance with laws that did not have his support. There he made a first mention of the labor reform that went ahead a year ago despite the 'no' of those from Telechea, and which, he highlighted, "has achieved half a million more jobs in 2022, two million more permanent contracts, and reach 20.5 million members of Social Security".

"You did not support the labor reform, from that day on you could be Republicans and from Catalonia, but not from the left," Bolaños sentenced, ending an intervention that had started with an attack on the PP, despite the fact that the person asking him was the deputy spokesperson for ERC.

The minister has taken advantage of his first turn to speak to charge against the position of the PP on the issue of abortion and demand that they clarify whether or not they consider that it is a right. "It is very good that he reproaches the PP for the abortion law but tries to agree with them on the 'only yes is yes' law," Telechea later ironized.
