Bolaños assures that the barons of the PSOE "understand" the action of the Government in Catalonia when it is explained to them

MADRID, 13 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Parliament and Democratic Memory, Félix Bolaños, assured this Tuesday that the socialist barons have a common denominator and that is that they "understand" the steps that the Government is taking in Catalonia when they are explained.

This has been expressed in an interview on TVE, collected by Europa Press, when asked about how many socialist barons have called him to warn them that the policy maintained by the Executive in Catalonia is going to cause them an electoral cost in the coming elections municipal and regional elections in May.

"I frequently speak with colleagues who have government responsibilities in regional governments and also with mayors and, do you know a common denominator? When we explain to them what we are doing, they understand it," he assured.

For this reason, Bolaños considers that what the government should do is "explain it more" and say that they are "making life more difficult for the corrupt" and "that when this reform of the Penal Code is approved they will be worse off than now."

In this line, the minister has pointed out that when they are told that none of the behaviors that occurred in 2017 have been decriminalized "they also understand it", as well as when they clarify that "the embezzlement of taking it away is not the same , to finance a third party or to be taken by a party, than to give an item to assign a destination to a budget item",

"If a mayor of a municipality receives European funds to digitize his municipality and ends up using that item to pay payroll, do we have to condemn him as a thief?" asked Bolaños, who has asserted that this will not happen in Spain after the reform of the Penal Code is approved.

However, he has emphasized the need for "pedagogy" to "overcome the falsehoods that are poured out in public debate."
