The deputy of EH Bildu Jon Iñarritu has indicated that "it does not make sense" that agents related to the 'Kitchen case' and the so-called 'Operation Catalonia' are still in their posts, something that Grande-Marlaska has emphatically denied, pointing out that what "doesn't make sense" is making those accusations without proof.

According to the minister, "practically all" of the Prosecutor's Office and the agents of the Security Forces work to help the judges within the parameters of the Rule of Law and with the intention of "getting to the bottom" of any criminal act.

Iñarritu has reminded him of the chats of the former number two of the Interior with the PP Francisco Martínez and the president of the National Court, José Ramón Navarro, whom he has described as "conseillere". In this sense, he has compared the response of the PSOE with the 'Kitchen case' of alleged espionage with "public media" to the ex-treasurer of the PP Luis Bárcenas. This last case Grande-Marlaska sees as "current" because the Prosecutor's Office requests 15 years in prison for former minister Jorge Fernández Díaz, who is "still a PP militant."
