Bildu calls for new fiscal measures to support the PGE and also calls for progress in the Housing Law

He hopes that the Government is "receptive" and does not lose sight of the fact that it will have to "count on the multinational majority that gives it the votes"

MADRID, 8 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The spokeswoman for EH Bildu in Congress, Mertxe Aizpurua, has advanced that her formation will demand from the Government during the budget negotiation social and fiscal measures that benefit the social majority, as well as making the tax on large fortunes permanent, and has also indicated that this framework can serve to "press" with the objective of achieving advances that allow the approval of the Housing Law.

This is how he explained it in an interview with the 'Parliament' program on Radio Nacional, collected by Europa Press, in which, however, he has refused to detail for now what specific demands his formation will put on the table to once again support the General Budgets of the Condition.

Aizpurua has admitted that his formation has already had "a couple of meetings" with the Government in which they have transmitted "broadly speaking" what they expect from the public accounts. That, if there has been no exchange of documents yet.

Bildu faces the negotiation with "all the will to reach an agreement that will benefit the working classes", but has not yet ruled out a complete amendment and will demand social and fiscal measures. Although they recognize that several initiatives have already been promoted in favor of the social majority, they consider that "there is still room" in this field to continue advancing.

However, Aizpurua has refused to specify what his priorities will be. "It is better to act with prudence and be discreet. We have never put red lines to start talking and we will tell things when they materialize", she has pointed out.

Although Bildu's spokeswoman has explained that her requests will be limited to budgetary issues --including those related to investments in infrastructures in Euskadi--, she has recognized that the negotiation may also be a good opportunity to "press" and encourage the search for a agreement on the Housing Law.

"It is an issue that must be resolved, we left-wing parties cannot afford to forget about needs that are urgent and that, moreover, directly affect youth. It is an obligation to press and get more," he said. emphasized.

For this reason, he has warned the Government that "if he wants social budgets he will have to count on the multinational majority that gives him the votes." "I hope they are receptive and act responsibly, like us," Aizpurua pointed out.

Regarding the increase in defense spending, he recalled that Bildu rejects it, especially taking into account the war in Ukraine, but that they will study the "small print" to see how this increase has been designed and whether or not it means "a decrease for other social policies.
