The actions will consist of the demolition of the outer ring, the cantilever that protrudes from the façade of the South Goal (where the Health Assistance Center was located), and half of the third tier of the same Goal, part of which acts as a counterweight. The demolition will be done by the traditional system, through mechanical means, and the preliminary work to prepare the area will begin on September 1, with the dismantling of equipment and facilities, of the restaurant areas, of seats and accessories. , of railings and beams, and with the removal of the electronic video scoreboard of the South Goal.

According to Barça, this action will save time in a "complex and large-scale" work and will be "very useful" to start verifying processes and speed of the new construction, in view of the bulk of the works planned for the 2023-season. 2024, where sports practice will move to the Lluís Companys de Montjuïc Stadium.

The club will start with the South Goal because this will be the entry point for all the telecommunications of the future stadium and where all the technological connections will be built. In the coming weeks, the works will be tendered, which will have a maximum cost of 4.6 million euros and will be assumed within the framework of the bridging loan signed last summer.

The vice-president and head of the Barça Institutional Area, Elena Fort, explained what these works will consist of. "This involves removing the Gol Sur backpack, which as it counterbalances, implies having to remove a third of the third tier and also the video scoreboard. This affects a total of 3,782 locations, 3,182 of which are season ticket holders," he said. .

"We are obviously concerned about this affectation, which we always do for an improvement, because it will help us to carry out the treatment of the construction processes and it is a test that will also help us to advance the works much more quickly," he predicted.

Finally, he stated that they have decided to "allow the temporary leave" of the affected subscriptions. "Third tier season ticket holders affected will be relocated to the same third tier in similar or better places, and the 1,215 second tier season ticket holders, who go from being covered to uncovered, what will be done is an adaptation of the season ticket price" , he concluded.
