Badosa needs the third set in Paris to knock down Juvan

BARCELONA, 26 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa will be in the third round of Roland Garros, the second 'Grand Slam' of the season, after beating the Slovenian Kaja Juvan (7-5, 3-6 and 6-2) in a match in which She ran into great resistance and played in the rival's net, although in the third set the Catalan rediscovered her best version to stay alive in Paris.

Badosa debuted this Tuesday with a solid victory in two sets at the Philippe Chatrier against the French Fiona Ferro (6-2, 6-0), and this Thursday she suffered a little more against the Slovenian on the Suzanne-Lenglen court, needing a third set in which she improved and, in addition, took advantage of the Slovenian's physical downturn, with back discomfort.

In just over two and a quarter hours of the match, Badosa experimented on the second court of the Parisian tournament from brilliance to his own desperation, coming to ask himself out loud and looking at his box 'What do I do? What do I do?' seeing the resistance as a wall of the Slovenian, in a second round to take note of for future matches.

For now, Badosa --third-seeded in the tournament-- will face Kazan-born Veronika Kudermetova in the third round, who beat Serbian Aleksandra Krunic on the fast track, with a double 3-6. Against Kudermetova, Badosa will have to improve at the back of the court and try to move her rival more.

And it is that Juvan took the second set of the match 3-6 with a great defense, caused by the lack of mobility in the balls of the Catalan, and also with her inspired drops and climbs to the net. Badosa, who was able to change the 'chip' at the end of that second round and especially in the third set, saw the light.

The match began with a 5-2 favorable to Begur, but three games in a row for the Slovenian made it 5-5 and the set was closed by the Spanish in her favor after achieving the third break of service and, in the twelfth game and with his service he took advantage of the second of the three set balls to make it 7-5.

After that second set in which Badosa also suffered three consecutive games from his rival, Kaja Juvan had back problems before the start of the third and final set, which lasted 38 minutes and was the fastest.

Despite starting it losing her serve, Paula Badosa chained four consecutive games with two of them blank (including a break to her rival) to go up 4-1. Juvan saved in the sixth game two more break balls that Badosa had and made it 5-2 in the Suzanne-Lenglen, but Badosa did not give rise to anything else by making good his first, of three, match balls and sealing with 6 -2 his pass to the third round.
