Badosa falls to number four in the world before its premiere at Roland Garros

MADRID, 23 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Spanish tennis player Paula Badosa has fallen one position to number four in the world in this Monday's update of the WTA ranking, in which the Polish Iga Swiatek continues to lead and Garbiñe Muguruza remains closing the 'Top 10'.

Before her debut at Roland Garros, the second 'Grand Slam' of the season, against the French Fiona Ferro, the Catalan (4,545 points) moved from third to fourth place, ahead of the Greek Maria Sakkari (4,726). Swiatek clearly dominates (7,061) ahead of the Czech Barbora Krejcikova.

For his part, Muguruza retains his tenth place despite his surprising defeat on Sunday in the first round of the Parisian 'big' against the Estonian Kaia Kanepi (2-6, 6-3, 6-4), who endorsed his bad feelings in the clay court season.

Meanwhile, Sara Sorribes continues at number 39 and Granada-born Nuria Párrizas rises three positions to number 45.
