The sixteen clubs that will make up the ASOBAL League for the 2022-23 season have unanimously approved the processing of the request for the authorization of the Professional League to the Board of Directors of the Higher Sports Council (CSD) in a vote at the Extraordinary General Assembly of said body at the headquarters of the CSD.
The Association of Spanish Handball Clubs was established in 1984 with the aim of managing the television rights of the clubs. In September 1990, ASOBAL organized the first ASOBAL League, which led to the arrival in Spain of great foreign players who, together with the national players, increased the quality of the top-flight teams, which gradually positioned themselves as benchmarks in European competition and international.
In a statement, ASOBAL indicated that his career supports him to conquer an "old dream" of men's handball clubs such as the consolidation, expansion and improvement of the ASOBAL project thanks to the approval of the authorization of the Professional League by the CSD Board of Directors .
