Arrimadas reveals that he called Abascal to pressure the PP to present a motion against Sánchez for repealing sedition

He criticizes that sedition is discussed with "seditious" as if the Metro security strategy were being negotiated with pickpockets

MADRID, 16 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The leader of Ciudadanos, Inés Arrimadas, has revealed this Wednesday that she called the president of Vox, Santiago Abascal, to add support and pressure the PP to present a motion of no confidence. Both agreed that those of Alberto Núñez Feijóo are the ones who have to "take the step" against the Government to delay as much as possible the penal reform that would eliminate the crime of sedition.

Arrimadas has recounted that he called Abascal to ask him what he thought of the idea of a motion of no confidence, a proposal that the first ones launched from Ciudadanos and to which Vox joined days later.

In that call, the leaders of Ciudadanos and Vox shared that it is "the PP who has to take the step", as revealed by Arrimadas in an interview with COPE, collected by Europa Press, in which he reiterated that the motion would bring the " infamy" of the sedition to the elections, hitting Sánchez in what "hurts him the most: the votes".

The 'orange' leader has expressed that she has "no complex" for speaking with Abascal, with whom she "always" had a "cordial" relationship, when asked about the "photo of Colón" that she gathered in 2019 in a protest against the three opposition parties to Sánchez.

In fact, he has mentioned that in the motion of censure that Vox presented against Pedro Sánchez, Abascal thanked him for the manners and respect, in the face of the very harsh tone of the former PP leader Pablo Casado.

Arrimadas has assured that if he led the opposition, he would present a motion of no confidence without "any doubt", while he has said that he does not trust the PP to say that taking care to govern will reverse the repeal of sedition. "First, because by then Junqueras may be in Congress because they have removed his disqualification. Second, because Sánchez's plan to be quick and nobody finds out can work out well for Sánchez. And third, because we are aware that the PP He makes promises that he doesn't keep," he said.

And he went on to mention that when José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero's PSOE governed, which removed the crime of illegal referendum, Mariano Rajoy promised to put it back and did not do so even though he had an absolute majority. "This motion is useful because it delays the deadlines and the PP should be up to the task, dare, take a step and assume that leadership, because Spain needs it," claimed the deputy.

Arrimadas has denounced that the President of the Government intends to put the Penal Code at the "service of criminals convicted by final sentence" and has stated that this situation would be like negotiating "the firefighting strategy with arsonists or the security strategy in the Metro with the association of pickpockets".

"This is what Sánchez is doing, talking about the crime of sedition with seditious people, it is a spectacular thing," he snapped.
