Arrimadas criticizes that the main attack for Felipe VI is the Government and defends his work of stability

MADRID, 24 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The president of Ciudadanos, Inés Arrimadas, has criticized this Tuesday that the main attack for Felipe VI is the Government and its partners and has defended his work of stability, transparency and regeneration at the head of the Head of State. Thus, she has stressed that what is important is who the current head of state is and what is "rare" is that he receives "questions and attacks" from the government itself.

This was expressed in an interview on TVE, collected by Europa Press, when asked about the first visit to Spain by the King Emeritus since he established his residence in Abu Dhabi almost two years ago.

Arrimadas has pointed out that the October 3 speech made by Felipe VI to "defend the Catalan constitutionalists" continues to "sting and sting" many. "What cannot be tolerated is that they are in a part of the Government of Spain also attacking that figure, which is the one that gives us stability and the one that is important for our country," he added.

As to whether Don Juan Carlos owes an explanation to all Spaniards, the leader of the 'orange' formation has reiterated that "you cannot be a denier of any of the things." In this sense, she has recalled his "very important" role in the Transition, but "his behavior has disappointed many", among whom she has included herself. "You can't remove one thing or the other," she added.

Likewise, he has asked that something that Felipe VI has not done not be used by United We Can and Sánchez's partners to "undermine" the parliamentary monarchy. "Felipe VI has made his commitment to transparency and regeneration very clear," he added, while insisting that the objective of the separatists is "to attack one of the institutions that guarantee the unity of Spain."

For this reason, he has asked to be firm in defending the parliamentary monarchy and has clarified that ERC is not a republican party: "It is a separatist party." In this key, he has lamented that those who support the Government have as a unifying element the criticism of the Head of State and that the Executive, for its part, is not clear about what the constitutional system is.

In relation to the reform of the Crown, Arrimadas has pointed out that when the focus is placed on the Casa del Rey "it is not done out of a reformist spirit", but because "they know that it is an institution" that gives Spain "unity and stability". "Those who want to break Spain, because they obviously know that there is the pillar where they have to attack", he has settled.
