Albares travels to Brussels tomorrow to meet with the Trade Commissioner in the midst of the crisis with Algeria

MADRID, 9 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, will travel to Brussels this Friday to meet with the Vice President of the Commission responsible for EU trade policy, Valdis Dombrovskis, diplomatic sources have informed Europa Press.

The minister's posting comes after Algeria's decision to suspend foreign trade operations with Spain. The Government is analyzing the implications of this measure to offer an adequate response, "serene but firm", as explained by Albares himself.

The minister has modified his agenda and finally will not travel to Los Angeles, where he planned to participate this Thursday and Friday in the Summit of the Americas at the invitation of the United States. In her place, the Secretary of State for International Cooperation, Pilar Cancela, will attend, the sources have specified.
