Albares meets with his counterpart from the United Kingdom, who reiterates his commitment to reach an agreement on Gibraltar

The Minister for Foreign Affairs, the EU and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, met with his British counterpart, James Cleverly, who reiterated the UK's commitment to reaching an agreement between the country and the EU in Gibraltar "that works to everyone in the region.

Albares has reported, through Twitter, that at the meeting, which took place in Oxford -where the head of Spanish diplomacy has gone to participate in the Hispano-British Gatherings--, both have addressed strategic bilateral relations between Spain and the UK.

"We want a mutually beneficial relationship for our citizens," stressed the Spanish Foreign Minister, who shared images of the event.

For its part, Cleverly has highlighted, also through the same social network, that the meeting has served to "work together" on "security, prosperity and opportunities". Likewise, she has reiterated the United Kingdom's commitment to reach an agreement with the EU on Gibraltar.

In this regard, the Government of Gibraltar has assured that it has worked "closely" with the British Foreign Office in view of the Cleverly and Albares meeting, which has finally been an "opportunity" to ratify the United Kingdom's commitment.
