A total of 11 companies will pay for the 2019 universal telecommunications service

MADRID, 5 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The 2019 universal service will be paid for by twenty operators, corresponding to 11 companies, according to the provisional list published this Tuesday in the Official State Gazette (BOE) by the National Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC).

Telefónica is the provider of the service, but its cost is distributed among the operators that have revenues above 100 million euros.

In this provisional list, there are three operators from Telefónica itself (Telefónica España, Telefónica Móviles España and Telxius Cable España), three from Vodafone (Cable Europa S.A.U. --company of the former ONO--, Vodafone Enabler Spain and Vodafone Spain) and three from Orange (Orange Spain, Orange Spain Fixed Communications and Orange Spain Virtual).

For its part, the MásMóvil group, after its latest purchases, adds five companies to the list with Euskaltel, Lycamobile, Pepemobile, R Cable and Telecomunicaciones Galicia and Xfera Móviles.

Completing the list: Colt Telecom Spain, Digi, Evolutio Cloud Enabler, Lyntia Networks, Red Eléctrica Infraestructuras de Telecomnuicación and Retevisión.

In 2019, the cost of the universal service amounted to 6.89 million euros, 52% less, after the firm managed to exclude the booths from it.
