The economic and social crisis caused by the Covid-19 continues and does not spare the job. The platform accommodation booking online Booking.com announced on Tuesday that it would reduce up to a quarter of its workforce due to the pandemic of sars coronavirus, leading to thousands of layoffs.
Founded in 1996, Booking.com offers around 28 million ads on its site, which is available in 43 languages. The company is based in Amsterdam, employs some 17,500 people across the world, has not given the exact number of affected positions. It was stated that details will be announced "in the weeks and months to come". But it has warned that "up to 25 %" of employees could be affected by this measure to be "extremely difficult".

"the crisis of The Covid-19 has devastated the travel industry, and we continue to feel the impact with the volume of travel that remain significantly reduced," said Booking.com in a press release. "Although we have done a lot to save as many jobs as possible, we believe that we have to restructure our organization to ensure that it meets our expectations concerning the future of the travel industry", added the company.
