Vox affirms that the PP asks to dissolve organizations that promote referendums because now "it suits them"

The spokesperson for Vox in Congress, Pepa Rodríguez de Millán, assured this Friday that the PP proposes to dissolve organizations that promote referendums because now "it suits them", after the "unsuccessful" meeting held between 'populares' and Junts to address the investiture by Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

This has been done in statements to TVE, collected by Europa Press, after the PP has proposed dissolving organizations that promote self-determination referendums or declare the independence of a part of the national territory, an approach framed in the amendment to all of the 'popular' to the amnesty law.

The PP initiative has caused confusion within Vox because the Cortes have on several occasions debated proposals from those of Santiago Abascal to outlaw pro-independence formations, such as Junts, but they have never had the support of the rest of the parliamentary arc. In addition, Vox has once again included this proposal in its entire amendment to the amnesty law.

Rodríguez de Millán has assured that Vox "appreciates" the PP's proposal and that they "share" it, but he recalled that they have never had the support of Feijóo's people in similar initiatives. The spokesperson attributed this to the fact that "now, as they are presenting it, they believe it is something good and not before because Vox presented it." Thus, she sees that the PP, by not supporting them, "was not looking out for the good of the Spanish people, they were looking out for their own convenience."

In this context, he has focused on the meeting between PP and Junts, with an "unfruitful" result for the 'popular', in the words of the parliamentary spokesperson. "We are very concerned that the PP meets secretly with Junts and then decides to present this type of initiatives motivated solely by convenience, but if only for that reason, we think it is a good initiative," she concluded.
