Volkswagen Navarra works on a battery assembly plant that would be located in Landaben

The Government of Navarra has learned that Volkswagen Navarra works in a battery assembly plant for electric cars that would be located in the factory facilities in Landaben.

The president of the regional government, María Chivite, chaired a meeting held this Wednesday at the Palacio de Navarra with executive staff from Volkswagen Navarra, in which detailed information was received on the firm's new project and the design of the new plant.

The Government of Navarra has transferred to those responsible for Volkswagen Navarra present the existing tax framework and aid that could be used to carry it out.

This battery assembly plant for the electric models manufactured in Landaben was not contemplated in the project of regional interest approved by the Government of Navarra for the electrification plan for the Volkswagen plant, the regional executive explained in a statement.

This is a new industrial project that has been transferred to the Executive in a meeting in which the president, María Chivite, the Minister of Universities, Innovation and Digital Transformation, Juan Cruz Cigudosa, the managing director of the Foral Treasury, Óscar Martínez de Bujanda, the General Director of Communication and Institutional Relations, Miguel Moreno, the Director of the President's Cabinet, Alicia Erdociain and the President's adviser, Xabi Casimiro.

On behalf of Volkswagen Navarra, David García, director of Planning Engineering; Kai Feuerherdt, Director of Human Resources; Paco Guerrero, Project Management Manager; Asier Martorell, manager of Infrastructure Planning and Juan Fernández, manager responsible for the battery factory project.
