Vara dismisses the agreement between PP and Vox as a "pact between losers" but assures that it will be an "exemplary" transition

The acting president of the Junta de Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, has described this Saturday the agreement between PP and Vox to govern in the region as a "pact between losers", but "legitimate", and has assured that there will be a transition from "absolutely exemplary" powers.

This has been stated before journalists in Cáceres before attending the act of constitution of the new corporation of the Cáceres deputation.

That agreement to "throw the PSOE out of the government" may "be unethical, or aesthetic, or it may mean missing the word, but it is legitimate and a democrat like me has to respect it," he insisted.

Faced with this new scenario, Fernández Vara has insisted, the president of the Assembly, Blanca Martín, must initiate a round of contacts, in which she will transfer "rescind the possible investiture of mine and call an investiture to elect a new president of the Extremadura joint".

This transition of powers, he stressed, "is going to be absolutely exemplary, without a doubt" and this has been conveyed to both the president of the PP in Extremadura and the next president of the Board, María Guardiola, and the leader of Vox in the region, Angel Pelayo Gordillo.

In this regard, he stressed that the current situation in Extremadura is "absolutely different" from what was found, with much fewer unemployed and a notable drop in school absenteeism, among other issues.

For this reason, Fernández Vara has said, he is leaving "with the peace of mind of having fulfilled his duty, a clear conscience and clean hands", and he did not want to assess the new Ministry of Forest Management and Rural World that will be in the hands of Vox. "What I have to have is the greatest institutional respect possible," he stressed.
