Turull (Junts) assures that he would do October 1 again and "would do it better"

Claims Puigdemont as Junts candidate for the Catalan elections

The general secretary of Junts, Jordi Turull, has assured that he would do it again on October 1 and "would do it better", and has claimed the former president of the Generalitat Carles Puigdemont as the party's candidate for the next Catalan elections on May 12 .

"We are not going to renounce unilaterality, this has to be understood," Turull stated about independence, in an interview published this Sunday by 'El País' and collected by Europa Press.

Turull has defended that they have earned the right to vote and that "resignations cannot always come from the same side", which is why he has assured that the resolution of the conflict will be through amnesty and self-determination.

He has pointed out that "if a judge wants to delay the deadline he will be voluntarily prevaricating" and, according to him, judges cannot determine who can do politics in Catalonia and when they can do it.

He has also reiterated that they are "concentrated" on the Junts candidate for the elections being Puigdemont and has ruled out the option of the group's spokesperson in Congress, Míriam Nogueras.

Likewise, Turull has warned that "if Pedro Sánchez complies, there will be a legislature" and has vindicated his commitment to stability.

Turull has denied that there have been official contacts with the PP, but has confirmed that "Junts agreed in an executive that if the PP wants formal contacts" with the party, they will go.
