The US releases the images of the incident between one of its drones and a Russian fighter in the Black Sea

MADRID, 16 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The United States Armed Forces have declassified the edited images of the incident between one of its unmanned aircraft and Russian SU-27 fighters in the Black Sea, in which these planes are seen approaching the drone and throwing fuel into the air.

The United States Command in Europe has also shared a summary of what is seen in the video, of less than a minute and that begins with an approach of an SU-27 to the MQ-9 drone. The proximity between both devices causes the first problems in the transmission.

In a second approach, the tactic is repeated - again it throws fuel near the drone - although this time the Russian fighter "passes even closer" to the MQ-9. Both devices "collide" and the recording is lost, for "approximately 60 seconds," according to the US forces.

The incident took place on Tuesday, over international waters in the Black Sea, and has stirred political tensions between Washington and Moscow. Both countries have expressed their willingness to recover the remains of the drone, which ended up falling into the sea, although they have acknowledged that it is complicated.
